Seahawk Let Down; What Went Wrong?

Wow where do you start?  Sacs, dropped balls, confusion on the plays, and they wanna blame it on the injuries?  No.  Ok so you lose a few key players during the week, and then beginning of the game.  You Don't play like your hurt, the second string is supposed to step it up and get it done.  That clearly didn't happen today.  Tate goes out a bit, his replacement did nothing. Tate wasn't catching the ball anyways before he got hurt.  So what excuse can we come up with for that?  Can't blame Hasselbeck, he was actually tossing them up correctly for the most part.  Thats was just an example, other offensive receivers were just not catching the ball to begin with. Oh yea, then when they do get a hand on it, they decide to drop it or give it to the Raiders.  Really?

Then there was all the Sacs.  I dont even remember how many they had the whole game, but 3rd quarter, there were like 5 back to back, within just a couple minutes.  Blame it on Hasselbeck?  Maybe, but his job isn't to block the defenders, plus he stepped up a few times to try and reduce the loss on the play.  No, clearly the offensive lineman were not doing their job.  How is it maybe 80% of the Sacs came from up the middle?  Really?  We just gonna part  like the Red Sea now and just let Hasselbeck deal with it?  Were they even trying to block?  I know im not the only one thinking that was ridiculous.

Oh and did we forget all that we did in practice?  Are the plays totally foreign now?  When you are at the line, you need to be aware of whats goin on, at all times.  That's what the huddle was for.  You need to know what the play is before the snap, period.  How many times did we end up turning the ball over because no one knew what was going on?  Chyea, enough said.

But let's not forget how the Defense was pretty much on point today for the most part.  They played hard, they were doing ok with holding it down at the line of scrimmage in the beginning.  Of course with a 33 to 3 loss, obviously something fell through, but it wasnt until the end of the third and fourth quarter. Not saying thats acceptable, just they were pretty much doing what they were supposed to most of the time.

Bottom line, I stand by what I said last week.  Yes it was great we beat Arizona, but we could not play like they did that game and expect to Oakland.  I think we played worse then that game, but it comes back to what I said about consistency.  They need to work on being consistent in how they run plays, play defense, etc.  They Play the Giants next week, and they just need to get it together period to win next week.  Play like they did against San Diego or Chicago.  You can't blame the injuries for all the mishap or bad game, for second string is supposed to step it up and play better.
